Lloyd MAX Improvements – Oct. 10–23

Beginning Sunday, October 10, through the end of service Saturday, October 23, MAX Blue, Green and Red lines will be disrupted for track improvements to increase reliability and make your ride smoother. Shuttle buses will replace MAX service between NE 7th Ave MAX Station and NE 60th Ave MAX Station.

  • Shuttle buses will serve stops near the closed stations and connect with trains at NE 60th Ave MAX Station and NE 7th Ave MAX Station.
  • Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes or more often most hours on weekdays, and 15 minutes or more often most hours on weekends.

MAX service disruptions

MAX Blue Line

The Blue Line will be split into two sections. One section will run between Hillsboro and NE 7th Ave. The other will run between NE 60th Ave and Gresham.

Hillsboro – NE 7th Ave

MAX Blue Line will run between Hatfield Government Center MAX Station in Hillsboro and NE 7th Ave MAX Station

To continue east of NE 7th Ave MAX Station, transfer to a shuttle bus at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112). Exit at shuttle stops nearby closed MAX stations, or connect with MAX Blue Line at NE 60th Ave MAX Station, with service to Gresham.

Gresham – NE 60th Ave MAX Station

MAX Blue Line will also run between Cleveland Ave MAX Station in Gresham and NE 60th Ave MAX Station.

To continue west of NE 60th Ave MAX Station, transfer to a shuttle bus next to the MAX station (Stop ID 7828). Exit at shuttle stops nearby closed MAX stations, or connect with MAX Blue Line at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375), with service to Portland City Center and Hillsboro.

MAX Green Line

MAX Green Line will run only between Clackamas Town Center Transit Center and NE 60th Ave MAX Station.

Clackamas – Gateway Transit Center

To continue west of NE 60th Ave MAX Station toward PSU, transfer to a shuttle bus next to the MAX station (Stop ID 7828). Exit at shuttle stops nearby closed MAX stations, or connect with MAX Blue Line to Portland City Center at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375). In Downtown Portland, transfer to MAX Orange Line at Pioneer Place/SW 5th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 7646), with service to PSU and Milwaukie.

For trips toward Clackamas Town Center from PSU, board MAX Yellow Line at MAX stations on SW 6th Avenue and transfer to MAX Blue Line at Pioneer Square South MAX Station (Stop ID 8334). At NE 7th Ave MAX Station, transfer to a shuttle bus at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112). Exit at shuttle stops nearby closed MAX stations or connect with MAX Green Line at NE 60th Ave MAX Station, with service to Clackamas.

MAX Red Line (Airport)

MAX Red Line will run only between Gateway Transit Center and Portland International Airport.

Heading to the airport?

For trips to the airport from the west side, board an eastbound MAX Blue Line to NE 7th Ave MAX Station and transfer to a shuttle bus at NE Holladay & 9th Ave (Stop ID 14112). At NE 60th Ave MAX Station, board any train and transfer to MAX Red Line at Gateway Transit Center.

Leaving the airport?

For trips from the airport to Downtown Portland and Beaverton, board MAX Red Line to Gateway Transit Center. At Gateway, transfer to a westbound MAX Green or Blue Line. At NE 60th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8372), transfer to a shuttle bus and exit at shuttle stops nearby closed MAX stations, or connect with MAX Blue Line at NE 7th Ave MAX Station (Stop ID 8375), with service to Portland City Center and Hillsboro.

MAX Orange and Yellow Lines

MAX Orange and Yellow lines will run regular service.

  • Shuttle buses will serve stops near the closed stations and connect with trains at NE 60th Ave MAX Station and NE 7th Ave MAX Station.
  • Shuttle buses run every 10 minutes or more often most hours on weekdays, and 15 minutes or more often most hours on weekends.
  • Allow at least an extra 45 minutes for your trip.
  • Consider other transportation, including regular bus service, if possible.
