How to Load Your Bike on FX Buses
Bikes are allowed on FX buses only if there is room in the designated bike spaces.
Bikes go Inside
Every TriMet FX bus has one rack to store two bikes. Standard bikes use the interior bike racks. Folding bikes that can collapse to the size of luggage can be brought on board, but they must not block the aisle.
Step By Step
- Make sure the bus comes to a complete stop. When the doors open, enter the bus through either rear door. Make sure to tap the Hop reader to pay your fare.
- If you’re paying with cash, secure your bike in the rack, then walk to the front of the bus to place your fare in the far box next to the operator.
- Roll the front wheel of your bike onto the roll-in rack. The wheel arm will grab the bike’s front wheel as it settles into the wheel slot. That’s it!
- When you’re ready to exit, stand next to your bike and hold the handlebars securely, then pull the bike straight backwards toward you, which will open the wheel arm to release your bike.
