Ticket Machine Out of Order?

We know it’s a hassle when a machine is out of order. If you encounter a broken machine, we want to know about it. And don’t give up just yet… There may be other ways you can purchase your fare:

Try another form of payment

If the machine isn’t accepting debit/credit cards, it may still be accepting bills and coins. (If the machine is labeled “Card Only,” try a different machine.)

Try another machine

Most stations have more than one.

Buy a ticket in advance

You can buy books of 10 tickets in advance from neighborhood ticket outlets including most Albertsons, Fred Meyer and Safeway stores, at the TriMet Ticket Office at Pioneer Courthouse Square and online in the TriMet Store. Just remember to stamp your ticket in the validator at the station before boarding.

Report ticket machine problems

To report a ticket machine or validator out of order, please use our online form or call us at 503-238-RIDE (7433).

Heavily used machines can break down more often simply because of the repeated wear and tear. We do our best to repair machines within 24 hours of when we are notified of an issue.
