TriMet's Fare Zones

TriMet's service area is divided into three fare zones and a fare-free zone called Fareless Square. Adult fares are based on the number of zones you are traveling through. Honored Citizen and Youth/Student fares are valid in all zones. WES Commuter Rail always requires an All-Zone fare.

Example: If you want to travel from Gresham Transit Center to downtown Portland, your trip would require an All-Zone fare, because you are traveling through all three fare zones.

What zone am I in?

You can find the exact zone boundaries on bus route maps and the Rail System Map. On the Interactive System Map, when clicking on a stop or station, it will tell you which zone the stop is in. The Trip Planner automatically calculates the correct fare for you based on your origin and destination.
