TriMet adds MAX & bus service for Grand Floral Parade
MAX to run downtown during parade for 1st time
For the first time ever, MAX will continue to run during the Grand Floral Parade on June 11, making it easier for riders wanting to attend the parade or just get through the city on TriMet's busiest Saturday of the year.
Busiest Saturday
TriMet carries about 270,000 rides on Grand Floral Parade Saturday, over 40 percent more than an average Saturday. Extra MAX and bus service will accommodate riders, while TriMet staff will be at MAX stations and downtown to provide assistance.
Service highlights
For the parade, extra bus service will be provided and MAX will continue to run downtown:
- Blue Line trains will run every 15 minutes. Just before and after the parade service will increase to about every 10 minutes. The last trains will leave Pioneer Courthouse Square stations at 1:32 a.m.
- Yellow Line trains will run every 20 minutes between Expo Center and Beaverton Transit Center from about 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- MAX Red Line trains will travel only between Gateway Transit Center and the airport from about 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If traveling to the airport, take a MAX Blue Line train to Gateway and transfer to the Red Line.
Express buses
Express buses will relieve MAX passenger loads. Before the parade buses will express riders from Gateway Transit Center to SW 5th & Pine. After the parade express buses will serve all MAX stations on NE Holladay Street and then run express to Gateway.
