Medical Center construction starts at Gateway

Some parking spaces displaced; alternatives available

On Monday, June 13, a private developer will begin construction of a medical office building at TriMet's Gateway Transit Center. Later this summer, construction will begin on the building's parking garage, which will include TriMet Park & Ride spaces.

During construction, almost half of Gateway's 826 Park & Ride spaces will be unavailable.

Parking options

TriMet’s E 122nd Ave MAX Station Park & Ride was recently expanded to offset parking losses at Gateway. Additionally, parking will be available at the Gateway Elks Lodge at NE 99th and Irving, near the transit center. Several other Park & Ride locations near Gateway also offer "lots" of alternatives.
When the parking garage opens in spring 2006, Gateway will have 690 Park & Ride spaces-136 fewer than today. TriMet recently added 170 spaces to the E 122nd Ave MAX Station Park & Ride to compensate for this loss.
