TriMet improves Washington Square service
Plus other SW service changes - start June 5
TriMet service adjustments, starting Sunday, June 5, will affect some bus lines serving the SW Portland metro area.
Based on favorable rider feedback, Washington Square buses will no longer circle the entire mall, streamlining service on three routes:
43-Taylors Ferry Rd
- Buses will not travel on Washington Square perimeter road or Greenburg Road.
- The bus stop on Greenburg by Hall Blvd will move onto Hall Blvd. Lines 76 and 78 will serve other stops on Greenburg, currently served by Line 43, including stops at Lincoln Center.
- Two stops on the south end of the perimeter road near Washington Square Too will no longer be served.
76-Beaverton/Tualatin & 78-Beaverton/Lake Oswego
- Buses will use Greenburg, Gormartin, Palmblad and Washington Square Road traveling to and from Washington Square Transit Center.
- Buses will no longer travel on Washington Square perimeter road on the south and west side of the Mall.
- The two bus stops on the south end of the perimeter road near Washington Square Too will no longer be served. Buses will serve other stops on Greenburg currently served by Line 43, including stops at Lincoln Center.
Other area changes
Several other SW Portland area bus lines have route or schedule changes, including:
- Buses serving Marquam Hill will return to their regular routes along Campus Drive, ending a construction detour.
- 8-Jackson Park will have minor service adjustments on Saturdays and Sundays.
- 44-Capital Highway will connect with the 40-Mocks Crest on the Portland Mall.
- 43-Taylors Ferry Rd will take over service of the discontinued 40-Johns Landing.
- 68-Collins Circle will have schedule adjustments with several low-ridership trips combined.
