Handful of TriMet routes see minor changes on Sept. 3

September adjustments will occur on seven bus lines to provide better, more reliable service and make better connections.

More service

Service will be added to three bus lines:

  • 10-Harold: An extra morning trip is being added between downtown and Powell & 26. Trip times will change up to 10 minutes for better schedule reliability
  • 31-Estacada: Service will be doubled on buses leaving Estacada from every 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Trip times change up to 10 minutes for better reliability.
  • 39-Lewis & Clark: Service will be extended later until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The later service and a recent extension to Hillsdale are part of a six-month trial to boost boardings along this low ridership line. TriMet worked with neighborhood associations and Lewis & Clark College on the route extension, which began last June. If the changes don't increase ridership, service may be reduced in the future.

Time changes improve reliability

Times will change up to 10 minutes on these three routes for better schedule reliability:

  • 6-Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
  • 9-Powell
  • 17-Holgate

Permanent change

The 4-Fessenden temporary route, which has been serving the new St. Johns Safeway store, will become permanent. Because of the new route, trip times will change up to four minutes.

Schedules will be available the last week of August on buses, at the TriMet Ticket Office in Pioneer Courthouse Square or at Fred Meyer, Safeway and most Albertsons stores.

Fare increase Sept. 1

On Friday, Sept. 1, fares will increase to help cover the cost of inflation. Cash/tickets will increase 5 cents; monthly passes will increase $2. Effective Sept. 1:

  • 2-Zone cash fares will increase 5 cents to $1.70
  • All-Zone cash fares will increase 5 cents to $2.00
