  • 8.75 million monthly rides were taken during the month – a new record for the month of June – and a 4.9 percent increase over June 2007.
  • Weekly rides on MAX and buses were up 5.7 percent, totaling 2,063,400 trips over June 2007.
  • Weekly rides on MAX set a new record, averaging 764,000 trips, a 4 percent increase over June 2007.
  • Weekday rides on MAX set a new record, averaging 118,200 boardings a 3.8 percent increase over June 2007.
  • Weekly bus trips increased 6.8 percent over June 2007, climbing to 1,299,400 rides.
  • Rush hour ridership remains strong, with bus and MAX trips up 10.3 percent compared to June 2007.

"Clearly our buses and MAX trains are providing an alternative to driving and offsetting record-high fuel prices," said TriMet General Manager Fred Hansen. "With our trip planning tools and real time arrival information, it makes it even easier to chose to ride transit."
