TriMet holds open houses

TriMet will host a series of open houses to update progress on the Washington County Commuter Rail and the I-205/Portland Mall Light Rail projects. Information on future Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail and the Columbia River Crossing projects will also be available.

Transit Investment Plan:
The open house will also focus on TriMet’s Transit Investment Plan (TIP), a rolling five-year plan, which lays out strategies to meet the region’s transportation and livability goals.
The TIP is updated and revised annually, providing a framework for TriMet and its partners to balance needs to guide where, when and how to invest transit-related dollars. The TIP priorities include:
- Build the "Total Transit System": Enhance customer information, access to transit, stop amenities, frequency, reliability, passenger comfort, safety and security.
- Expand high-capacity transit: Invest in MAX Light Rail and Commuter Rail service along key corridors to connect regional centers.
- Expand Frequent Service: Add to TriMet’s network of 16 bus lines that run every 15 minutes or better, every day.
- Improve local service: Work with local jurisdictions to improve transit service in specific local areas.
