Light rail maintenance to interrupt MAX this weekend
Lloyd Center to Gateway service impacted Sept. 6 & 7
MAX Blue and Red line service will be interrupted this weekend between Lloyd Center and Gateway Transit Center stations. Service will be interrupted from the start of the service day on Saturday, Sept. 6, to the end of service on Sunday, Sept. 7. Crews will work to replace 22-year-old tracks in the Hollywood area to help with service reliability. MAX Yellow Line service will not be affected.
Changes to note
- The three closed stations are Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave, NE 60th Ave and NE 82nd Ave.
- Buses will shuttle riders between Lloyd Center/NE 11th Ave and Gateway/NE 99th Ave Transit Center (TC), stopping at each of the three closed stations.
- There will be an "Express" shuttle bus that will travel directly between Lloyd Center and Gateway TC.
- Riders should add an extra 10-20 minutes for travel time.
- MAX service between Cleveland Ave and Gateway TC and service between Hillsboro and Lloyd Center will not be affected.
Westbound travel
Board the shuttle bus at the Line 27-Market/Main stop on the south end of the Gateway TC platform. Riders traveling to NE 82nd Ave, NE 60th Ave or Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave stations can board a "Local" shuttle bus. For direct travel to Lloyd Center, board an "Express" shuttle bus.
Eastbound travel
Board the shuttle bus at the east end of the platform at Lloyd Center. Riders traveling to Hollywood/NE 42nd Ave, NE 60th Ave or NE 82nd Ave stations can board a shuttle bus marked "Local." For direct travel to Gateway, board a shuttle bus marked "Express."
Travel to the Airport
All eastbound trains will connect with the Express shuttle bus at Lloyd Center and travel to Gateway TC, where riders can board a Red Line train to the Portland International Airport.
