The officers will patrol the 12 MAX stations between Gateway Transit Center and Cleveland Avenue, as well as buses in East County.

The precinct is temporarily housed at the Gresham Police Department. Over the next 12 months, TriMet will monitor the effectiveness of the precinct and determine if any changes are necessary. The precinct is expected to expand to 10 officers by July 1.

A new Westside precinct began operation March 12, patrolling the 16 stations west of the Sunset Transit Center.
