We're fired up! Portland ranks #1 (again)
Last month, Portland was ranked the #1 city for transit by U.S. News & World Report. But that wasn't the only honor bestowed upon our city in February. Portland was also aptly named "Best Place to Ditch Your Car" by Sunset magazine. Transit, bikes and peds for the win! Find out why
"Bus is turning" audio announcement on buses
We're trying out a new safety feature that alerts pedestrians over a loudspeaker when a bus is turning. Starting this month, the speaker system will be installed on 10 buses on the Line 14-Hawthorne and the Line 15-Belmont, and will move to other bus lines for additional testing. After the tragic bus collision in April 2010 that claimed the lives of two pedestrians, we set out to find new ways to make our buses and trains safer. This is just one of many ideas we're either implementing or exploring. Learn more about recent safety improvements
