Tilikum Crossing MAX Improvements Project
We’re making improvements to Tilikum Crossing, Bridge of the People, and the Harbor Structure that will require shuttle buses to replace some MAX Orange Line service from July 9–12. Some bus lines that use Tilikum Crossing will be detoured to different bridges during the project, while Portland Streetcar A and B will experience disrupted service.
MAX Disruption
MAX Orange Line trains will be replaced by shuttle buses between the PSU South/SW 5th & Jackson and Clinton St/SE 12th Ave MAX stations. Shuttle buses will use Tilikum Crossing and serve stops near closed stations.
We encourage riders to plan an extra 15–30 minutes for their trips.
Bus Detours
Bus lines 17-Holgate/Broadway and 19-Woodstock/Glisan will be detoured to the Ross Island Bridge.
Buses lines 17 and 19 will not serve the following stops during the disruption:
- SE Division & 8th Place (Stop ID 13778)
- SE 7th &Tilikum Way (Stop ID 13825)
FX2-Division will be detoured to the Hawthorne Bridge.
Buses lines 17, 19 and FX2 will not serve the following stops during the disruption:
- South Waterfront/S Moody (Stop ID 13732)
- South Waterfront/S Moody (Stop ID 13733)
- OMSI/SE Water (Stop ID 13772)
- OMSI/SE Water (Stop ID 13773)
There are no impacts to Line 9-Powell Blvd.
Portland Streetcar Disruptions
Portland Streetcar Lines A and B will end at SW 5th Avenue and Montgomery Street, on the west side of the Tilikum Crossing. Learn about stop closures and bus connections for the Portland Streetcar on their webpage.
