Your Hop card on iPhone® and Apple Watch® makes it even easier to get around on TriMet, C-TRAN and Portland Streetcar.

You can quickly pay for transit and enjoy all the benefits of Hop — such as earning passes as you ride — without having to carry a card.

Available for Adult, Honored Citizen and Youth.

Hop Fastpass and Apple Pay

Setup is easy

If you already have a plastic Hop card:

  1. On your iPhone, sign in to the Hop Fastpass appHop Fastpass app Hop Fastpass app icon
  2. Select the Hop card you want to add to Apple Wallet Apple Wallet app icon
  3. Tap “Add to Apple Wallet” then follow the on-screen instructions

If you’re a new Hop user:

  1. On your iPhone, download the Hop Fastpass appHop Fastpass app and set up an account
  2. Tap “Get a Virtual Card Using Apple Pay”
  3. Choose a payment method (there’s a one-time $3 fee for new Hop cards)
  4. Tap “Add to Apple Wallet” then follow the on-screen instructions

Tap and go

It’s easy to get on board: Just hold your iPhone or Apple Watch over the green Hop reader.

After a split second, you’ll see a green checkmark and hear a chime — that means you’ve paid your fare and you’re good to go!

No need to open an app or even wake your device.

Earning passes as you ride

Just like with a plastic Hop card, you can save money by earning day and month passes as you ride. You get the savings of a pass, without the commitment or the upfront cost. Learn more about earning passes

Paying with a debit or credit card

You can also ride using your debit or credit card on Apple Pay — no Hop app needed. Just hold your iPhone or Apple Watch over the reader to pay the Adult fare. And you’re done. Learn more about paying with a debit or credit card

Tap every time you board

Your tap is your proof of payment, so tap every time you board a bus or train, including when you transfer. You won’t necessarily be charged every time you tap. Keep your phone charged in case a fare inspector asks for proof of fare.
