Get your foot in the door at TriMet as a Maintenance Service Worker and help keep the Portland area transit system looking its best. As an essential team member in the Maintenance Operations Division, you will be our boots on the ground. Service workers make sure our buses, trains, buildings and grounds are in top-notch condition for our customers and co-workers.

Your daily responsibilities will include moving and fueling buses, cleaning shelters, transporting fareboxes and attaching snow chains during weather events. Every day will bring new and exciting challenges, and with our comprehensive training program, you'll be set up for success!

Great pay

Start out making $21.75/hour

Are you a night owl? Earn an extra $2/hour for overnight shifts between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

What are the requirements?

    A minimum of a high school diploma (GED) or equivalent

  • 2

    Must be 19 years of age and possess a valid and active driver's license for the past three years.

  • 3

    One year of experience in maintenance, mechanical, automotive, diesel, electrical, janitorial or a related field is great, but less experience will be considered for people with a can-do attitude and desire to grow their career.

  • 4

    Must have a safe driving record and the ability to obtain and maintain an Oregon intrastate Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class “B” (available at age 18) or Washington interstate CDL Class “B” license (available at age 21), with passenger endorsement and no restrictions on air brakes.

Need help getting your CDL? Join our Early Onboarding Program

We encourage you to apply even if you do not have a CDL. When you start work, our Early Onboarding Program will guide you through the entire paid CDL training process.

This temporary non-benefited position pays $20/hour for up to 40 hours/week for two weeks. The class schedule is Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. most days or 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
