The Tualatin Valley (TV) Highway Transit & Safety Project is moving from broadly defining the route and station locations to exploring more detailed designs such as station footprints and transit priority elements, bike lane and intersection treatments. The project is recruiting a Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to provide insight and feedback as the project is refined through the design process.

The application period closes on Friday, November 14, 2025

Membership and Meetings

The CAC will be comprised of individuals representing a variety of perspectives, including residents, business and property owners, transit riders and organizations that serve people who use TV Highway and the project route.

Applications will be accepted through November 14, 2025. Members will be selected by TriMet, in consultation with jurisdictional partners involved with the project to ensure depth of representation and perspectives. The CAC application process will follow TriMet’s standard process for advisory committee recruitment.

Meetings will be held at a location along the project route from 6-7:30 p.m. on the third Monday of every other month (subject to change) starting on January 12, 2026 and continuing through early 2027. (Meetings will likely be cancelled in July, August and December, and frequency may slow in late 2026 as design nears completion.)

Meetings are open to the public and include time for public comment. In-person participation is preferred, and transit passes and meals are provided for committee members. A $50 stipend per meeting may be available for eligible members per TriMet’s advisory committee stipend policy.

Purpose and Expectations

  1. The CAC serves as a sounding board for project design. Feedback from the CAC will be shared with decision-makers. Each member’s perspective is valued, and consensus is not necessary.
  2. Members will receive project updates on design progress as well as safety and access improvements planned as part of the project.
  3. Members study, discuss and provide feedback on design issues, many of which are subject to financial and regulatory constraints. It is expected that members will share the information they receive broadly with their communities and provide feedback that is representative of their communities/neighbors/collages perspectives.

    Design issues may include:
    • Station location refinements
    • Stations and their interface with buses, cars and adjacent streetscapes
    • Pedestrian crossing configurations
    • Bus layover facilities at the western end of the line
  4. Members serve as liaisons with the communities they represent, providing a strong two-way communication link between the project and those it affects.

    This includes:
    • Serving as sounding board for community engagement activities
    • Keeping the CAC informed about interests and concerns in communities along the corridor
    • Considering public comments received during CAC meetings
    • Considering feedback received in the project’s other community engagement efforts
  5. Members participate with a spirit of collaboration, working toward a transit project that maximizes benefits and minimizes impacts, particularly for vulnerable communities.
  6. Members participate in all scheduled meetings. Members missing more than three consecutive meetings will be asked to step down.
  7. Members honor group participation guidelines, to be developed as a committee.

Apply to Join the Committee

We are encouraging all folks interested to apply. The application process is open through Friday, November 14, 2025 at 5 p.m. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

The CAC’s first meeting is tentatively scheduled for January 2026.

TriMet is committed to ensuring accessibility to all diverse representation on the Community Advisory Committee. Historic barriers have prevented some of our most vulnerable community members from participating in the public process, which is why we strive to create educational and engaging community dialogue that includes historically underserved communities.
