Aug. ‘26 Transit Service Changes
Approved service changes and cuts go into effect Aug. 23, 2026.
In August, we will continue to reduce our transit service as part of TriMet’s ongoing work to close a significant long-term budget deficit. Cutting service is never something we want to do, but by taking these steps now, we will preserve the transit service our region relies on for generations to come. Learn more about the service cuts.
On Sunday, Aug. 23, we will adjust service on 34 lines with two lines eliminated completely due to low ridership. Many changes are centered on network efficiency, combining lines or reducing where lines run near others. A number of other routes are changing to maintain service in areas where people are riding. Our goal is to focus our service investment where it is needed and used most.
We detail the line-by-line changes below. Further service cuts will be proposed this fall for next year.
